Social housing

An inclusive hostel

An integrated hosting project

The home and living as conditions for well-being

OstellOlinda is a reception facility established following the closure of the former Paolo Pini Psychiatric Hospital. Initially, it had an agreement with Niguarda Hospital for the management of psychiatric patients. Today, OstellOlinda fulfils two social functions: providing accommodation for psychiatric patients on the basis of personalised, long-term plans, and helping psychiatric patients find employment.

Home and housing are fundamental aspects of everyone’s quality of life, and even more so for people with vulnerabilities. Housing is a crucial space for disadvantaged people to recover, test and maintain their ability to live independently: if approached in a targeted manner, it can significantly improve people’s well-being.

Why co-housing?

Co-housing at Ostellolinda creates a safe living space that is comfortable enough to feel like home. At the same time, living in a collective environment, governed in such a way as to maintain a welcoming atmosphere (typical of hotel activities), allows people to overcome isolation and loneliness, which are ingredients in the process of marginalisation and social exclusion suffered by disadvantaged people.
